Everyday Minerals (Part 2)
3rd-Dec-2008 09:04 pm
My 2nd Everyday Minerals free sample kit and stuff order arrived some time ago, but real life got in the way of my posting a review of this lot.

They have definitely been getting a lot of use though. And what I am loving to bits is that I have been wearing the foundation everyday without any breakouts or blemishes. That is something I've never been able to do with my favorite foundation brands Bobbi Brown and Shu Uemura.

This time round, the sample kit contained:

Thus far, the matte foundation formulation has given great mileage all day with my oily skin, but we'll see how the intensive matches up over the next couple of days. And the beige shades are a better match to my skintone as well.

I also included a baby kabuki brush and man, they weren't kidding when they said it was a baby. The bristles are wonderfuly soft though and is quite compact to buff in the minerals into the skin.

And because I was going for a bit of a sample binge, I went WTH and bought 2 more blush samples: Champagne and Wet Sand. Both are from their lucent line, which has the tiniest bit of twinkle in them, so they really look amazing as highlighters. I used a touch of Wet Sand with some homemade mixing medium (glycerine + water) as an eyeshadow today and it was gorgeous to work with, lasting all day.

I agree, my monitor colours are nowhere near what the actual product looks like, so it's a bit like shopping blind. Which is why I can respect their free sample kit idea, cuz they obviously understand how annoying it is to have to pay full-price for something you can't test before purchase.

Thus far, I've found EM's buff biege neutral in matte a really good match (and if I tan much more, the medium biege neutral might be a better match). Apparently the same shade in different formulations are not identical, so you might want to experiment with the same shade in formulation (which I'm going to do with the buff biege neutral and medium beige neutral).

Otherwise, there's always mixing! (^_^)

Heh, that's what I have heard, so I'm going to test that out with my next free sample order (when will I ever stop?!).

Lucky you with your less oily skin. Mine just oozes so much of the stuff, the US would declare war for it if the technology was there to extract it into oil barrels.

But that means you will always smell yummy from all those moisturisers. X3 Though peeling is not good, especially on legs.

Don't remind me! I'll be dripping oil in SG. *dies* Stupid SG humidity.
