This photo is especially for xenalvr
The first time I met Ares, the black cocker spaniel, xenalvr
warned he was on medication and may bite. I nevertheless loved patting the mutt, even though he wasn't very social and spent the entire time I was there at the other side of the room.
After the yumcha session, Lilian asked if I'd like to see Ares. How could I say no?
The minute she opened the front door, he came bursting out and jumping up on me, behaving like an excited puppy. He seemed a completely different dog and I spent some time on the carpet playing with him (he sat in my lap and belly flopped for rubbing), while Lilian sorted out laundry before we took him on a walk in the area.
When we reached a bit of park, he was let off the lead and would dash off, but always stop and check on us as we chatted. It was like he was making sure we were alright and would return when called.
I miss having a dog of my own.
