Creationism? Uh...
18th-Jun-2008 07:24 pm
I'm all for free speech and all...

... alright, I'm really not.

Not when kids are being taught to sing-along to this sort of hogwash:

Interesting theory, but erm... no.

Flood = rocks? I think not. Land/mudslides and volcanoes, maybe... but correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that floods = lots and lots of water.

And drowning may mean carcasses sink, but eventually the gases in the abdomen would cause bloating and the body would float. Depending on the temperature and alkalinity of the water and marine activity, the rate of decomposition may range from several days to several weeks. None of which would result in fossilisation of dinosaurs, and certainly not to the degree of which certain species have been found to specific areas.

Notes: I am almost embarassed that he's graduated from QUT and UQ. Creationism? No thanks.

LOL, I remember these men. When I was studying in Perth my Physics teacher took us to what he thought was a discussion on physical processes of fossilisation.

I'm a Catholic, but sometimes I just wish some people would get off my side and stop making me look stupid.

He must've had a bit of a shock when he realised that the discussion really turned out to be.

I am too, but with every religion, there's always the extreme oddball. The Muslims have them, the Hindus too... the only ones who seem devoid of mentally questionable people are the Buddhists.

Oh yes, thanks for getting this song stuck in my head again after four years T_T

There are a few cases of massive extinction level events, but those events took 1,000's of years or more, not 30 days. They're talking about a massive die-off that happened ALL AT THE SAME TIME, and there's no evidence of that ever happening.

Religion always fails when it tries to play at science.

Some Creationism theories sound suspiciously like evolution anyway.

Poor poor religion. And what's funny is that if God created everyhting, then he created science which disproves many events in the bible?

That, my friend, is called irony. XD
