Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting An exhibition on the satire and fantasy of love explored through anime, comics graphic communications and manga in art, featuring 51 pieces of paintings, murals, sculptures, videos and interactive installations by renowned artists from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Denmark and America.

That's quite a mouthful.
And so were all the speeches, which were done in both English and Mandarin... for the benefit of the visitors from China.

But it was fun sipping the chilled white wine and chatting with the girl, who looked so tired and ready to collapse on her feet. I felt like whisking her to a quiet corner and telling her to grab a 30-minute nap, cuz that isn't even the least she deserves after all the hard work she had to put in to tie this all together.

It was still an amazing show and although the turnout wasn't as big as the other opening, it was still very decent.

And I just had to see the Ai Yamaguchi's piece. My mum and I love the whimsical illustrations on the limited edition Shu Uemura's cleansing oil range (they were dishing out little samples as door gifts). Plus I have a thing for wall mural type art. Something about the courage needed to take a brush to a stark white wall sends a chill up my spine.

Doesn't this guy remind you of someone?

I gotta say I'm pretty surprised by some of the works, cuz I could react to them. Like giggle when I saw the 4 piece panel, which this guy was featured. It was dotted with the funniest little caricatures of Pikachu and other comic characters. The SO and I were scanning each panel for the next laugh.

These works were far more appealing than the last exhibition opening we went to. Each had a different issue to grapple with: Singapore's foreign talent, Newater, conformity, etc. They got reactions. A gentleman standing beside me murmured: "Says something about the Asian culture" as we looked at the Newater and commuters video.

It was a great exhibition, sweetie! You should be so proud of all the hard work you've put in to make this happen. We are so honoured to share that moment with you. *hugs*

Now you deserve lots of rest.
