[Daily life] If the ring fits...

  • I've lost the SO to Final Fantasy whichever-the-latest-release-is. Yes, it's very pretty. Yes it's possibly the most awesome Final Fantasy game EVAH! But you know what? It's just a game and a very linear one at that.

  • We've had someone come out to our home to demonstrate a cookware set. I've never had a personal salesperson come over before and was curious about the experience. Now I'm not, but I'm impressed. Still didn't buy anything though - not at almost $4000 a pop.

Having the salespeople do the demo and ask me questions, which I could very honestly and easily say 'no' (eg. can you see yourself cooking like this everyday?) - made me realise that traditional Western cookware sets is not something we need at the moment. I don't need 5 pots and a skillet. I need 2 pots, 1 pan and 1 wok - cuz I don't steam vegetables with every meal. How dull.

  • Australia Junior Masterchef! OMG!
    That is all.

  • I'm finding it easier and easier to say 'no' to couchsurfers who don't put any effort into asking for a place to crash. Especially if you address us as 'dude'. Duuuuuuuuuude.

  • I've finally pulled my papercraft tub from the garage to make Christmas cards. I had almost forgotten how much fun making handmade greeting cards can be. Paper, punches, inks, card, ribbon... it's all happening!

The Final Fantasy games have gotten very pretty, but really seem to have lost the "game" aspect to me. It's more like watching an interactive movie.

Which if I want that, I'll go play Dragon's Lair ;)

They have! The number of cut scenes is annoying.

ah, opposite is true for me. i always tailor make every CS request and get real frustrated when the reply's "Good luck." I mean, is it too hard to ask for a sentence when I've obviously put in the effort to write you a paragraph long request?

Whether the CS request is a copy and paste or not, I write a decent response to reject them - usually a paragraph or two explaining why. Definitely not just a 'good luck'. That's a little rude.

Cookware sets are lowest common denominator sets. Usually a bunch of pretty good but not great pots. Good if you just need a bunch fast or want to have them all match.

As long as you have pots and pans that work for you, that's all that should matter.

That's kinda what we thought - our kitchen is really small as it is, so it's unlikely we'll have space for a 2nd set of cookware either way.
