Back story: I sells you overpriced cookware at a store with two names.
Today, I was covering the front of the store for my coworker who was getting water. A woman, maybe 60-ish, comes into the store, and I give her my customary, "Hi, how are you, welcome to *store*," etc. Keep in mind that I am about 10 feet away from her when she enters the store. She shouts (literally shouts) to me, "CROCKPOT!" (Not, "can you please show me the crockpots," but actually just the work "CROCKPOT") I lead her to our crockpot display, and begin giving her my spiel about the differences between the two models we have out on display. Mid-sentence, she cuts me to off to say, "NO I WANT SOMETHING SMALLER." So, I lead her to the only place a smaller one would be, and realize that we don't have any smaller crockpots in stock. So, I apologize to her, and try to tell her that she could find one at Kohl's or Bed, Bath, and Beyond, but she cuts me off at "If you want" and shouts "NO." She then promptly exits the store.
Not a huge suck, but... what? Can you really not wait two seconds for me to tell you where the item you need WOULD BE?
Bonus suck:
When I'm not hawking cookware, I do office work at my dad's office, a real estate management firm.
My co-worker, D, needed to fly to another state to sign some paperwork. He had one flight booked, but needed to switch to a later flight, so he was on the phone with customer service to change flights. He needed our boss, B, to take care of the cost of changing flights since it was a company expense. From what I overheard, the customer service rep said that the cost would be $50 (D said "$50" multiple times). D sets up the purchase,, then hands the phone to B to finish the transaction. B quickly starts yelling at the customer service rep about the cost of changing flights (which might have changed based on the nature of the purchase?). B yells that the customer service rep, "WILL change the flight for $50," then starts dropping "f-bombs" left and right, and demanding to speak to the customer service rep's manager. I heard no escalation, he literally went from giving the customer service rep his email address to shouting. At some point, he handed the phone back to D, and walked out of the office complaining that he "hates CSR's," leaving everyone else in the room to look at each other uncomfortably
I would have said something (having been on the receiving end of such a tirade many times), but I'm just a temp and the man signs my paychecks, so I kept quiet. I'm not 100% sure what happened, but I somehow doubt that the CSR went from 0 to EB in 5 seconds.
