Sunday breakfast
9th-Nov-2008 10:45 am
cooking

Sunday mornings are quiet moments between the beginning and the end of the week. I try to take the opportunity to make something nice to start the day and break the monotony of daily toast or muesli. It gives the SO something nice to wake up to as well. (^_-)-☆

This week is a serving of scrambled eggs (whisked with milk to give it lots of fluff) with leek, butter fried brown mushrooms served with 2 slices of toast.

And of course, a pot of strong orange pekoe tea in our new teapot from Heritage. (^0^)/

They're a very nice way to start the day, isn't it? (^_^)

My preference is for continental, as it is a little more balanced than the contemporary American selection of carbs, starch and meat.

Totally agree. There are some mornings when you just don't feel like putting in the effort.

Eggs are very versatile, but not of those things that's best not to have too often. :p

Erm, don't you guys get mushrooms over there? You can butter-fry just about any kind, except shitake (flavour is too strong and tastes weird).
