Salt and Pepper shakers
3rd-Jan-2008 03:46 pm
?!
When the sibling went to Bali, she came back with gifts.
Her gift to me was a keyring... with a handcraved wooden phallus.

And now on her return from Germany-Italy-Sicily, she brought back these for me.

... she has some very strange ideas of what our new home should be full of.

The sibling is fast becoming one of those relatives who buys the so-weird-must-hide-in-the-back-of-the-closet-to-never-see-the-light-of-day presents.

*goes hide the salt and pepper shakers somewhere*

Really? I find my tastebuds going for other spices, like cayenne pepper and chilli.

Ooh! It's the infamous Venus-of-somethingsomething figure! x_X;;; They were featured in a documentary on how humans from long ago are affected by their lifestyles to carve out primitive sculptures. The pale mint shaker is one of the first few to be found (the original is made of stone I believe). Something about the primitive people of before exaggerate the parts that were aesthetic to them. 8E too bad I have no use for salt and pepper shakers, if not I'd so buy them from you because they're like the ancient sculptures! -grabby hands-

The female form is definitely one of the most appreciated artistically throughout history.
And we don't really use shakers for salt and pepper either, but we'll see how they go.
