crafting

Thanks to ainead and Youtube, here's my first attempt at silk rose embroidery. Completed in 20mins and will be sewn into dining table placemats.

Hopefully with a little more practice, I'll be able to do this for my overdue JSK project.

I was amazed at how quick ribbon embroidery is. It fills up a space so easily and quickly.

It does and it really gives it a touch of elegance. I can see how anyone would wanna put silk ribbon embroidery on everything.

Oh wow, it looks really nice! I wouldn't be able to tell that it's a first-time attempt if you didn't mention it!

This has to be the easiest craft I have ever done, though possibly one of the more expensive ones, cuz silk ribbon does not come cheap.

Ahhh! See! This is why I LOVE silk embroidery.

You can complete in 20 minutes something that would take a MUCH longer time to do using normal embroidery techniques with thread.

You've done a BEAUTIFUL job and I know your JSK will be gorgeous when you're done.

Are the smaller rosettes also done with spiderweb rose stitch or some other technique?

It's awesome! Thanks for showing me how it's done!

And yes, I used only the spiderweb rose stitch and the colonial knots for the flowers. Tried looking for silk ribbon embroidery books at Garden City's Borders and they had nothing.

Oh my gosh! They look awesome for a first attempt! You did so much too~~ ;_; I only tried out one miserable rose long ago and have yet to pick up the needle again to do a whole bunch.

XD Can't wait to see the JSK project!
